International House's 4th Annual Global Homecoming
Sunday, October 14, 2018
10 am to 3 pm

FREE for I-House Residents

$5 Non-Resident Guests

Day-of registrations are welcome

Advanced ticket sales have ended. Walk-in guests can still register during Global Homecoming at registration on October 14th.

Join us under the dome for our 2018 International House Global Homecoming, featuring unique I-House activities, international fashion show, and scrumptious international treats! The house will be buzzing with excitement, don't miss out on the fun!

Bring your friends! This is a unique opportunity to bring your non-resident friends to I-House. The Sunday festivities are FREE for I-House residents, $5 for non-resident students with a resident sponsor (no limit on number of guests). Lunch is a normal meal swipe for residents and their guests.

Residents and guests 21+ bring your valid photo ID (passport for international students) to enjoy mimosas, wine and beer offered during the day.

10:15 am - 10:30 am | Presentation Cultural Disconnects with Refugees and Immigrants | Home Room

I-House Executive Director Emeritus Joe Lurie will present "Cultural Disconnects with Refugees and Immigrants," a theme from his newly much-expanded book, Perception and Deception.


10:30 am-11 am | I-House Architecture Walking Tour | Leave from Home Room

Joe Lurie, I-House Executive Director Emeritus, will reveal stunning, wondrous stories underlying the architectural history, furnishings, and design of the building.


11 am-12 pm | Robertson Center for Intercultural Leadership (CIL) Interactive Session | Chevron Auditorium

Demonstrating the neuroscience of how humans naturally react to cultural difference, CIL will showcase a tool that will allow you to question your assumptions, suspend judgment, and develop new habits of perceiving, thinking, and doing. Join us for a fun, interactive session and learn tangible strategies to effectively engage with difference.


12 pm-1 pm | Global Table Talk Lunch | Dining Commons

Come to Global Table Talk during lunch at the Dining Commons and meet alumni, residents, and community members. One meal swipe for current residents, regular price for non-resident guests. Participants get a special dessert!


1:30 pm-3 pm | “Around the World Under the Dome” Fashion Show & Tasting Festival | Chevron Auditorium

Enjoy I-House's International Fashion Show and Dance Party as you taste your way across the globe with international fare and drinks, a photobooth, and much more!
